Available for August only, this little gem of a country house is the perfect hideaway for couples wanting to spend private time together in comfortable and stylish surroundings only metres from the sea.

The whitewashed garden wall covered with its blaze of bright bougainvilleas conceals a pretty landscaped gravel garden with lavender, oleanders and olives. Immediately in front of the house there is a shady paved area with tables, chairs and a bench, a naturally cool area to escape the heat of the day with a good book. To the right of this there is a second area laid out for al fresco dining under the stars and there is also a third outside dining area on the upper terrace, perfect for breakfasts for two and romantic sunset cocktails. Sunbeds are also available for those who wish to tan in private.
The entrance to the house is through French doors into a small farmhouse-style sitting room with cool paved floors. A collection of Symi domestic artefacts, many of them discovered in the process of restoring the house, add character to the old fireplace and there is a small library of French books. A dainty curved white staircase leads from the salon to the master bedroom upstairs with its en suite bathroom, balcony and terrace. This airy bedroom with its gauzy drapes enjoys views of Nimborio bay from the balcony and upper terrace. The terrace can be accessed either from French doors leading from the bedroom or via steps from the garden.
To the right of the entrance downstairs is the well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, eye level oven and hob and double door fridge/freezer. There is a small table with chairs in the kitchen for companionable cooking. A short corridor runs behind the kitchen leading to the downstairs bathroom and shower. The washing machine is concealed in this corridor. Both the kitchen and the downstairs bathroom have French doors opening onto the front of the house.
This house is about 30 minutes walk along the coastal road from Yialos. There is limited parking behind the house if you choose to hire a small car or bike as this area is not served by taxis due to the poor condition of the road. There is also a water taxi operating from the only taverna during the day time. The nearest supermarket is at the clock tower in Yialos but they do deliver if the order is large enough. The house is air conditioned.
